the principles, ideals, or practice of producing fantastic or incongruous imagery or effects in art, literature, film, or theater by means of unnatural or irrational juxtapositions and combinations.
During a period of recovery I stumbled onto this via the dreams I was having nightly. I stumbled across some paintings that was familiar although I had not seen these before. This is when I discovered what I was dreaming was fractured visions I either had seen or formalise from reading books. I decided to ‘capture’ these dreams in my visual diary. Over time they began to form the complete image. I decided to create the images by photographing the components and constructing them in Photoshop. This eventually led to the creation of my first book Dreamstate: Eroticism in Surrealism.
